Thomas Heatherwick presented the studio’s project Vessel in a ceremony in New York today. The new public landmark will be made up 2,500 steps and 80 landings and will stand in central plaza at Hudson Yards. The announcement of the project was celebrated with a special performance from Alvin Ailey American Dance Foundation. Vessel will open to the public in 2018.
