The brand-new version of Thomas Heatherwick’s book ‘Making’
has just been published by Thames & Hudson.

The updated fourth edition features 16 new projects with new photography,
offering the definitive record of our studio’s 30-year journey.

With nearly 650 pages with 750 illustrations, the book shows over 150 projects across cities from London to Shanghai, New York, and Bogotá. New additions since the last update a decade ago include major developments such as Xi’an CCBD in China, Azabudai Hills in Tokyo, and the upcoming London Olympia.

The idea is to give an in-depth, behind-the-scenes look at our creative processes, now ingrained in the DNA of the studio itself, and to hopefully provide a dose of insight and inspiration for anyone with an interest in design. In the words of  World Architecture News, it’s “an adventure into the mind of one of the industry’s most captivating designers, well worth the hours you will lose within its pages … aglow with images and passionate commentary from Heatherwick himself”.
